I am so disappointed! I read 'The Other Hand' by Chris Cleave and absolutely loved it. Little Bee was such a courageous character - I was very eager to find out what happened to her further on in life. Delighted to see that 'Little Bee' was being released and ordered it immediately. When it arrived to my dismay I realised that it was 'The Other Hand', just published by another publisher! So much for my research!! So I am still curious about what did happen to Little Bee.................

Just finish The Other Hand and I can't recommend it highly enough. I absolutely loved it though it brought tears to my eyes a few times. I loved the little boy with his Batman obsession! Certainly Marianne is right & it is somewhat implausible in parts but a really good read and educational aswell.

Hi - agree that Little Bee was a great character and if the book had continued to focus on her story it would have been a good read. The other 2 main characters (the wife and the guy she was having the affiar with) were very implausible though. Overall for that reason, not sure I would recommend it. This book received very mixed reviews on Ryan Tubridy's Book Club.

CK I couldn't agree more with you. I read this book last year and it still stays fresh in my mind. What a story, parts of this book are shocking and bittersweet. I really enjoyed it too, so well written and a real page turner.

Have just read this book and would highly recommend it as a great read. This book made me think about refugees from different parts of the world, isolation and loneliness, relationships and sacrifice. I had total admiration for the main character 'Little Bee' to see the way in which she faced the challenges life doled out to her. This book is so well written and so compelling. I could hardly leave the book down once I had started.
