  1. Great choice for book of the month. I was gripped. Loved the way Gale used the painting description to set the scene for the chapters. Fantastic developments of characters also. Enjoyed the hints Gale gave about all the characters he unfolded later in the book. Couldn't wait to hear about Morwena! This was definately an early to bed book!

  2. Yeah Morwena was my favourite too. I was dying to know what happened to Petroc too.

Towards the end of the book though I felt myself drifting in interest, I think it loses a bit of tempo.

  3. Hey there, first time for me to post here but presume you're refering to Notes on an Exhibition, totally agree, nice book although i was waning in interest towards the end. I also thought the ending happened in the wrong order. Instead of the last chapter about what happened to petroc, it should have ended with the previous chapter where the auntie (can't remember her name) was offering her hand to morwena to come up the stairs into the attic almost as in a beginning of something new. Anyone agree? or am i just showing my need for things to end on a positive!

  4. i do agree.I could not wait to find out about Petroc but felt the end left me hanging. It would have been a nice round off if it had been the newly found aunt. Good plotting!

  5. I agree with you, it kind of tappered off to the end and lost a bit of its momentum. I also felt the Petroc thing was a bit long drawn out. I thought I'd just missed something at the start somewhere!

  6. Absolutely the Petroc thing was a bit long drawn out, interested to hear how he met his demise but not sure this book would be in my top 5 list.
