Discussing: Netherland by Joseph O'Neill
Just finished this book and I have to say I loved it. I thought it was really interesting the way the narator jumped from time to time throughout the novel. The intertwining of the stories and his reflections back on his life in NY were really interesting.
I felt like the ending was good, but I was looking for a bit more detail on the reconsiliation with his wife.
Am half way through Netherland at the moment and have to say I am undecided about it, largely. If it was a larger book I probably would have ditched it by now, and am probably sticking with it as it is relatively short. A lot of it is just narrative with very little relevance. Have to ask why he is staying in New York if he is so bloody miserable. Anyway hopefully it improves.....

Just grabbed this book super cheap on Amazon despite the somewhat lukewarm opinions. I'll let you know what I think of it!
