Dine to Read

I've just started to read this book. It's been sitting on my bookshelf for years now. I am finding it exceptionally slow so far. I know that this is probably the whole point of such a book - seeing the wonder in everyday, ordinary things, but at the same time I need some sort of motivation to turn the pages! I'm also finding it very confusing to keep track of who is telling the story to whom.Maybe I just have to throw myself into it. Has anyone else read it and found it a satisfying read? I loved Amongst Women but there was a very strong narrative in that
